Minister to intervene in Klipspruit crisis
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Basic Education minister Angie Motshekga says she will investigate demands by disgruntled residents.
The community is unhappy over the appointment of a black principle at the local secondary school.
The department's spokesperson Steve Mabona says they have reached an agreement with the community’s steering committee and will send all the relevant information to the minister.
“The minister will investigate the process and procedures that unfolded in the appointment of the principal. All parties will then be given the opportunity to make their representations. We also agreed that all must succeed to the outcome thereof,” says Mabona.

Klipspruit residents maintain the process to appoint the new principal was flawed and not transparent.
“On Monday it’s back to normal. All educators and learners must return to school. The steering committee has agreed that there will not be any more disruptions,” Mabona adds.
