Klipspruit West residents take to the streets

Residents of Klipspruit West are protesting over the appointment of a black principal at the local high school.

Community members took to the streets early this morning, blocking roads with burning tyres and debris.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says a Putco bus has also been used to block roads.
"The bus has been used to block the road and we don't know where the driver has gone to."

Makhubele says police will continue to monitor the situation.
No arrests have been made.
