The launch of the review campaign, which will be held on September 2 at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, will be addressed by ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The party's 2019 manifesto focused on seven priorities; including an inclusive economy, social transformation, safer communities, capable and developmental government, a diverse and inclusive nation, and fighting corruption.

Briefing the media at Luthuli House on Thursday, the governing party's secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said they will also be reviewing how party policies are being implemented in government.

This comes amid the tension between Mbalula and senior ANC Ministers Pravin, Gordhan and Gwede Mantashe over solutions for the energy crisis.

"This programme is driven by the ANC, it has never happened. Part of that process includes ministers being held accountable in different clusters. We are going to engage with them and at report to the NEC report per cluster and identify problems.

"These are the things we are looking at from the point of the ANC. Luthuli House is the centre, it doesn't run government but we monitor government. Because we can sit here and think everything is going well whereas it is not the case."
