Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The Gauteng Department of Education has increased support to teachers and learners at the school.
It has been two weeks since principal Phillip du Plessis disappeared.
Education officials have now increased its support to learners and teachers at the school.
According to spokesperson, Steve Mabona, Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi visited the school on Thursday and district officials returned to the institution on Friday.
“They will be there on a continuous basis. They will be at the school to check the mood, interact with the learners as well. This will happen until the principal is back or found.”
The 55-year-old has not been seen since a vehicle of the school was discovered at a parking lot of Carnival City Casino.

It is suspected that du Plessis left on foot or with somebody else, as the Casino confirmed to Mabona that CCTV footage didn’t capture him returning to the vehicle.
Mabona says the deputy principal has provisionally taken over as principal.
“The school is fully functional because the deputy principal is now acting as the principal there as she was appointed yesterday (Thursday). We are monitoring this situation very closely.”
