Mkhize heads back to the Eastern Cape to visit malls and taverns

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize will visit the Eastern Cape again this week, amid a further rise in the number of daily Covid-19 cases.
The Minister will be in the province for the next two days and confirms in his daily report that there now is a resurgence of infections in the Easter Cape.
Apart from visiting health facilities, Mkhize says he will also do the rounds at places where large crowds gather, like malls and taverns.
The visit comes after Mkhize and President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed concern over rising numbers of positive cases and covid19 related deaths in the province.

The Eastern Cape remains the hardest hit province with new cases and deaths, confirming another 51 related fatalities in the province.
Mkhize says between 52 % and 55 % of the total number of new cases reported in South Africa, currently comes from the Eastern Cape.
The total number of deaths has increased to 21 201 after another 115 new related fatalities were reported
