Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Three men appeared in the Piet Retief Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga on Monday in connection with the death of a local ANC councillor.

ANC ward councillor Sbonelo Mthembu Ntshangase and his two friends were gunned down on 13 January.
Andile Gamede, Blessing Ntombela and Blessing Dlamini are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and theft of firearm.
The three were arrested shortly after Ntshangase and his friends Sandile Khumalo and Sizwe Mbingo were shot and killed by armed suspects in Mkhondo (Piet Retief).
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Selvy Mohlala says the case has been postponed 14 February for a formal bail application.
“Both suspects are remanded in custody. Mr Gamede has however indicated his intention not to make a bail application.”
