More than 200 undocumented foreign nationals arrested in Gauteng

Gauteng police say they have arrested more than 200 illegal immigrants during Operation Restore in Johannesburg on Friday.
Police, together with the Johannesburg metro police and officials from the Department of Home Affairs arrested 44 people in Alexandra, 49 in Hillbrow, and 116 suspects in Diepkloof.
“The three areas have been saturated, major routes around the areas are fully covered by the police visibility. Officials are visiting liquor stores, food stores, and retailers, especially at Pan Africa mall in Alexandra, the operation is also targeting undocumented foreign nationals” said metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla.
One person was arrested for possession of illegal drugs and another person was arrested for illegal possession of ammunition.
