More municipalities make payment arrangements with Eskom
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Eskom says it is making some progress with collecting money owed to it by municipalities.

Of the 34 municipalities scheduled for supply interruptions during January, Eskom has received payments and signed payment plans with 21 municipalities.
Eskom says these municipalities have had their supply interruptions suspended.
The power utility's spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe says supply interruption will continue at municipalities who still have outstanding debt.
"The only municipality that has faced power interruptions starting from yesterday and continuing today is Naledi Municipality in the North West which affects towns like Vryburg and Stella," says Phasiwe.
Eskom says the time has come for municipalities to pay their outstanding debt in full.
"We are immensely encouraged by the kind of response we are witnessing presently and would like to thank all the municipalities that have made an effort to pay their accounts, and committed to their payment agreements," says Eskom Interim Chief Executive Matshela Koko.
