Ramaphosa: More support needed to restart Israel-Palestinian peace process

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for more support for the resumption of the peace process between the Israeli and Palestinian people.
The president attended the Cairo Peace Summit at the weekend for talks on the deadly conflict in the Middle East and the peace process.
Ramaphosa urged the global community to push for a two-state solution.
The president's spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya.
"The president has called for the fighting to end. Israel must stop its siege and shelling of Gaza. Hamas must stop launching rockets into Israel. Hostages must be returned. We must discourage any action that fuels this conflict and threatens to engulf the entire region.
Reports overnight are that hundreds more Palestinians have been killed in central Gaza after Israel stepped up its strikes on the war-torn enclave.
Hamas fights stormed across the border into Israel earlier this month - launching a raid that killed at least 1,400 people.
Israel hit back with a bombing campaign which has so far killed more than 4,600 Palestinians.
Iran's foreign minister warned that the violence in the region may spiral out of control if Israel does not immediately stop its military action.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Lebanese armed group Hezbollah it will be destroyed if it joins the ongoing conflict.
