More vaccination sites open in Gauteng this weekend

The number of sites in the province will now increase from 16 to 26. 

Health MEC Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi will conduct an oversight to the West Rand vaccination sites on Saturday.

The sites are open on the weekend for the first time.

“The West Rand Health District is the last of the five Gauteng health districts to open vaccination sites over the weekend,” says spokesperson Motaletale Modiba. 

Gauteng public vaccination sites are now able to accept walk-ins whether people are registered or not. 

The province has also reached a significant milestone by administering over 2 million jabs since the beginning of the mass rollout.
