Kaizer Chiefs fans went on the rampage after the team suffered a 2-0 loss to Free State Stars at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, attacking security guards, starting fires in the stadium and damaging TV camera equipment.

Khoza briefed the media in Johannesburg on Monday.

He named the man who was kicked as 32-year-old Sabela Maziba.

Images of Maziba being kicked while laying stricken on the field went viral at the weekend.

"I have been told that there is a lady that has been kicked, and as it happened that the person that was kicked was Mr Sabela Maziba whose age is 32, and he had head injuries and treated in hospital but was later discharged," Khoza told a packed press conference.

There were reports that the security guard was a woman but Khoza refuted these claims.

"The only lady that was reported to us was above the drinking limit and was paralytic and she was taken to hospital but was sent to sleep over in the police station. She was later released," he said.

One of the main sponsors is also expected to make an announcement around financial assistance to the 18 people who were injured.

"One of the league's sponsors will issue out at statement this afternoon saying that it will incur the medical expenses over the injuries sustained by some supporters on Saturday," says Khoza.

A full and speedy investigation will be launched into the violence.
