Motorists count down to fuel price relief in new year

Looks like we'll be driving lighter in January, with a significant fuel price reduction expected for motorists.
The Automobile Association (AA) says both grades of petrol are expected to decrease by R1,85.
Diesel is expected to decrease between R2.47 and R2.59.
Illuminating paraffin could decrease by around R1.93 cents.
The AA was commenting on data from the Central Energy Fund.
"These decreases will not take fuel prices to levels seen in January 2022 but will, nonetheless, go a long way to alleviating the fuel price burden and its associated impact on other prices felt by millions of South Africans," says the association's Layton Beard.
"For many travellers who are currently on vacation, this is also good news as it will undoubtedly reduce expenses on the return leg of their journeys.”
