Motsoaledi: Mediosa clinic a money-making scheme for Guptas
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has branded the
Gupta-linked Mediosa mobile clinic as an "ATM card" for the
controversial family.
Motsoaledi conducted a walkabout at the Mediosa clinic in North West as part of his investigation into the Gupta-linked company.
The clinic allegedly received a R30-million pre-payment from the North West Health Department, and a further R10-million pre-payment from the Free State Health Department.
More than 100 employees have not received their February salaries.
"I was must express my deepest, deepest disappointment. Because this was not supposed to happen in our country. But this is the service that we do not need. The health service in South Africa does not need this service at all,” Motsoaledi said

Motsoaledi said the revelations comes at a time when the country’s health services are in dire straits due to budget constraints.
“Health is overburdened and congested, so we need to save each and every cent.”
The minister called for the clinic to be shut down immediately, saying whoever entered into contracts need to find a way to terminate it.
"As a political leader I am very disappointed that after the destruction the Gupta's did to our SOE's, they are now destroying our health corpus. It simply cannot be allowed, I don't know why they undermine our country like this.”
Motsoaledi the money must be recovered for the sake of tax payers.
