Police in Mpumalanga have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the murder of his own child in Middelplaas near Malelane.

Warning: This story contains details of a child’s death which might be upsetting or triggering to some.
Police say the man apparently snatched the three-week-old infant from his mother on Wednesday.
She subsequently laid a complaint with the Schoemansdal police.
"Police immediately launched a manhunt, and received information that the lifeless body of the child was found dumped in the bushes few metres from the water reservoir and a diesel depot in Middelplaas,” says provincial police spokesperson Selvy Mohlala.
"The child was later found dead wrapped with a bloody blanket.”
The father was later traced and arrested at a hideout in Komatipoort on Thursday.
Mohlala says the man will also be charged with statutory rape since the mother of the child is only 15 years old.
The suspect is expected to appear in Nkomazi Magistrate's Court on charges of kidnapping, murder and defeating the ends of justice.
