Updated | By Mapaballo Borotho
A man is set to appear in the Secunda District Court on charges related to the operating of an illegal dagga laboratory.
His court appearance follows his arrest by the Hawks in Mpumalanga.
During the search, the Hawks found manufacturing equipment and chemicals, which were confiscated for further investigation.
Provincial Hawks' spokesperson Lucy Sekgotodi said the preliminary investigation established that the dagga was used to manufacture cannabis oil.
Items seized by the crime-fighting unit include two bags of dagga weighing over 100kg, dry dagga, hydroponic dagga, eight boxes of unused syringes and several other items used for distribution.
Sekgotodi said the value of the items will be determined once the investigation is complete.
