Mpumalanga teen appears in court for killing grandfather

A 16-year-boy has appeared in the Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday for shooting and killing his grandfather in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon after a heated argument between the teenager and the 63-year-old man.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Leonard Hlathi, says the teen grabbed a pellet gun and shot the elderly man.
"Police and medical personnel were called to the scene and unfortunately the old man was declared dead, hence the arrest."
"The police are working together with Probation Officers in this case and the case docket will be handed over to the Director of Public Prosecution for a decision." says Hlathi.
He adds that the minor is expected to appear again in court soon.
