Murder suspect hands himself over to police

A well-known business man from Leboeng in Limpopo will appear in the Malipsdrift Magistrates court in Limpopo after handing himself over to police in connection with the murder of a 44-year-old man.

According to police, the suspect handed himself over after allegedly shooting a man in Kgautswane at the weekend.


"The man shot a 44-year-old man several times and drove away," police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said.


The man was certified dead at a local clinic after sustaining several gunshot wounds to his body.

"Police launched a manhunt after the suspect's car was found abandoned along the R36 outside Burgersfort," Ngoepe said.


The motive behind this killing unknown but according to preliminary investigations the two men were embroiled in a fight over their respective soccer teams.


"Police investigations are still continuing," Ngoepe said.
