Mzwandile Masina Ekurhuleni's new mayor
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The ANC's Mzwandile Masina has been elected the new mayor of Ekurhuleni at the municipality's inaugural council meeting.

Masina received 117 of the 224 votes, while the DA's Ghaleb Cachalia received 106 votes.
One vote was spoiled.
The ANC's Patricia Khumalo was elected as Speaker earlier on Tuesday.
No party has an outright majority following the Local Government Election, but the ruling party managed to cobble together enough support from smaller parties for it to retain the metro.
Ekurhuleni is the last of the Gauteng metros to hold an inaugural council meeting after Tshwane and the City of Johannesburg metros held theirs on Friday and Monday respectively.
