Mzwanele Manyi resigns from ATM, joins EFF

Chief of policy and strategy at the African Transformation Movement Mzwanele Manyi has announced his resignation from the party to join the Economic Freedom Fighters.
Manyi posted a picture of himself on Twitter outside the EFF's Winnie Madikizela-Mandela House, saying his is now “a proud card-carrying member of the party”.
Manyi told Jacaranda FM News he has no qualms with the ATM as a party, but he believes the EFF is the only party capable of holding the ANC to account.
Manyi joined ATM in 2019 ahead of the national elections, after leaving the ANC.
Manyi, who is also the spokesperson for the Jacob Zuma Foundation, says he fears for the future of the country.
"South Africa is fast deteriorating into a failed state. It, therefore, needs a shock treatment from an organisation whose posture is revolutionary.
“The EFF, being the third largest party in South Africa, is well poised to take over from the ANC quicker than any other party. The EFF is the real alternative that everyone has been asking about.
“The EFF has a scale and demonstrable track record on accountability issues. Importantly, it is a listening party that genuinely engages the electorate before drawing up a manifesto," says Manyi.
Today I join the Revolution Movement, @EFFSouthAfrica as a card carrying member, to make a contribution in freeing South Africa from neo-colonialism; rampant corruption; and to rescue the country from the imminent failed state situation. Aykhale!! pic.twitter.com/aF7krfLsnk

Manyi has been part of the EFF's marches, including the national shutdown in March, which called for the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Both the EFF president Julius Malema and deputy president Floyd Shivambu took to Twitter to welcome Manyi to the party.
"Welcome to the revolutionary economic emancipation movement Fighter Mzwanele.
We are more than confident that you will add maximum value to the only reliable and dependable weapon in the hands of the oppressed and exploited masses of our people. Let’s fight on! Victory is Certain!," said Shivambu.

"Your credentials speak volumes, and we are more than confident that you will make a massive contribution to the success of the struggle for economic freedom in our lifetime.”
