N1 traffic set to peak

Safer festive season operations on the N1 have led to the impounding of 11 public passenger vehicles without operating licences.
According to Limpopo Transport MEC, Dickson Masemola 12 illegal immigrants were arrested, 14 summons issues, 718 people searched, 86 vehicles searched, and 260 vehicles stopped and checked in 2 hours on Monday.
"We expect traffic to peak by the 31st December 2019, especially on N1, and law enforcement is strengthened," said Masemola.

Masemola was participating in road safety operation on the N1 on Monday.
He will be leading similar operations on Tuesday and conduct walkabouts at the Mall of the North together with the Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Nneke Ledwaba, as part of crime prevention and awareness.
