Namibia’s ombudsman says cannot rely on Fraser's affidavit for Phala Phala probe

The Economic Freedom Fighters in Namibia has called on that country's ombudsman to investigate allegations against President Hage Geingob and the theft at Cyril Ramaphosa's farm.
The Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) is demanding the country's ombudsman, Basilius Dyakugha, launch an investigation into claims that President Hage Geingob helped cover-up the cash heist at President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala Farm in 2020.
The NEFF has accused the two heads of state of having a corrupt relationship.
Last week Thursday, NEFF deputy president Kalimbo Lipumpu filed a formal complaint with Dyakugha's office, giving the ombudsman seven days to make public steps to address the allegations against Geingob.
Dyakugha says that he can not rely on former spy boss Arthur Fraser's affidavit for investigations.
"In that affidavit I also made reference to it in my statement that it does make reference to maladministration, but I said that, that affidavit itself is a foreign document so it is very difficult for me to rely on that document. In that document the refence is made to a South African police who entered Namibia without any trace on whether he legally processed to enter and leave the country.
“In itself, this particular individual is not Namibian so it's also difficult for the mandate of the ombudsman, meaning that I will also have to investigate the citizens of Namibia."
He adds that the Head of state does not control boarder officials.
