New deadline for licence renewals – Mbalula
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has once again extended the deadline for driving licence renewals.
All learner’s licences, driving licence cards, temporary driving licences, and professional driving permit which expired after 26 March 2020 are still deemed to be valid.
They will remain valid until August 2021.
The extension comes anger and frustration with the backlog and logjams experienced with the online booking systems to renew licences.
