Johannesburg Water says laboratory tests reveal no bacteria was found in North Riding's water.
Johannesburg Water has confirmed that water in the North Riding area is free of any bacteria following suspected contamination.
Spokesperson, Isaac Dhludhlu says residents can now consume tap water.
"After extensive tests in the laboratory, Joburg Water can confirm that water is free of any bacteria and all residents can use their tap water for human consumption (drinking and cooking) as there was no detection of sewer contamination within the water network."
Residents in the North Riding area, specifically in Boundary, Aureole and Spionskop streets were warned of possible sewerage in water.
