No credible evidence of mastermind behind Meyiwa murder - NPA
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it is not in possession of any credible information which could lead to the arrest of more suspects for the murder of late Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Five men appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
All five maintain their innocence and insist they are being framed for the murder.
The matter has been transferred to the Palm Ridge Magistrates’ Court for a pre-trial hearing on July 19.
The state wants to go on trial in October.

AfriForum and Meyiwa's family are disappointed that the alleged mastermind behind his murder has not been arrested.
"I am not aware of any credible information that has been brought to the NPA that is sufficient or meets the standards for us to be able to arrest a particular suspect,” says NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwenya.
“If there are people who are making accusations based on their theories, we can't take theories to a magistrate or a judge.
"If people have evidence that points to a particular suspect person, let those people give that evidence to the nation and let them expose us as the NPA and the NPA that we are not arresting and prosecuting that suspect.”
However, head of AfriForum's private prosecuting unit, Advocate Gerrie Nel, has written a letter to prosecutions head Shamila Batohi to demand the arrest of the so-called mastermind.
The Meyiwa family says Police Minister Bheki Cele revealed the name of the mastermind to them four months ago.
