The community’s complaints include what they describe as dirty water.

Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says officers were on the ground monitoring the situation.

"Police have been deployed in Hammanskraal after the community members [in the] early hours of the morning and barricaded the R101, which leads to Warmbad. They have been monitoring the situation since the morning. At the moment the situation is calm."

Makhubela says no injuries have reported and there haven't been any arrests.

"Today @CityTshwane woke up by sporadic protests in the City. I understand the plight of the people and frustrations with service delivery. However, acts of criminality will not be tolerated. Let us engage #SOCA2019," the tweet read.
