On Friday, President Cyril Ramaphosa acknowledged South Africans' frustrations as Eskom battled to keep the lights on.

"We've been very depressed with the electricity," said Ramaphosa.

Last week, Eskom's acting CEO, Jabu Mabuza said an announcement in this regard could be expected within days.
