One of the parole conditions states that he is not allowed to conduct media interviews during his parole period.

Venter says the conditions are imposed to protect the sensitivity around the matter of Reeva Steenkamp.

"He is not allowed to give media interviews for the period of his parole, we all understand that he is a public figure and this has international media attention to this matter, and there are a lot of people that might be sensitive to him appearing in the media at this stage, especially the family and friends of Reeva Steenkamp."

The former Paralympian world champion is set to be released from prison on Friday.

Pistorius murdered his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine's Day 2013, firing four times through the bathroom door of his east Pretoria house.

He pleaded not guilty and denied killing Steenkamp in a rage, saying he mistook her for a burglar.

Steenkamp's mother has previously said she did not believe the ex-athlete was rehabilitated and said she did not think he had told the truth about what happened.

Venter says Pistorius will also have to attend Gender-based violence sensitivity sessions as part of his rehabilitation process.
