No money to repair torched Mpumalanga classrooms
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The Mpumalanga provincial Education Department has reacted with shock following the torching of classrooms at a school in Delmas.
Four classrooms were set alight at the Botleng Secondary School at the weekend.
Officials estimate the damage at thousands of Rand, but fears that repair work will drag as it first plans to find the funding.
A case of arson has since been lodged at the local police station.
Provincial spokesperson, Jasper Zwane says officials will be deployed to the school today to assess the damage.
It's unclear at this stage which grades will be affected by the incident.

Zwane says the department is currently experiencing budget constraints.
"The difficult part is that we don't have money set aside to manage such developments. Our budgets are heavily constraint."
