No move to oust Makhubele as MKP chief whip - Hlophe
Updated | By Andile Tsotsetsi
MK Party deputy president John Hlophe has refuted claims of a coordinated move by the party's parliamentary caucus to get rid of chief whip Colleen Makhubele.

He addressed the media during a press conference in Cape Town on Thursday afternoon.
" There is no letter. There is no petition in terms of which MPs are calling for the head of the chief whip.
"This is a figment of someone's imagination. I would've been the first person to receive that petition. So the suggestion that there is a letter, that there is a petition against the chief whip, is quite frankly nonsense."
There were reports of disharmony in the caucus earlier this week, with some party MPs said to have accused Makhubele of being a poor leader and a threat to the party.
At a press conference in Cape Town on Thursday afternoon, Hlophe vouched for Makhubele's leadership.
" She is very good,” he said.
“She's very effective as a chief whip. I'm not undermining the predecessors, but she's the kind of chief whip that we need now to take the party forward, and she remains our chief whip. She will remain as such until she's recalled strategically for one reason or the other.”
