"No particular reason needed to honour Zuma" - presidency
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
There is no specific reason for President Cyril Ramaphosa to host a dinner for former President Jacob Zuma "it was the first available night", says the presidency.
On Tuesday night President Ramaphosa will be hosting a cocktail dinner in honour of former president Zuma at Tuynhuys in Cape Town.
Acting spokesperson in the Presidency, Tyrone Seale, says cabinet ministers and their deputies are also invited to the private event.
Seale says all indications are that Zuma will attend the dinner "so the plans are on track for the dinner to take place".

It was reported last week that Zuma was invited to attend Ramaphosa's State of the Nation Address but did not show.
Zuma resigned last week Wednesday after extensive negotiations with the African National Congress.
Zuma eventually stepped down after he was recalled by the party, which threatened to remove him through a motion of no confidence brought by the EFF.
