All the affected facilities are expected to be back in full operation from Tuesday.
City of Tshwane says all nature reserves, resorts and public swimming pools will be closed on election day so that staff can go and vote in the local government elections.
“The City of Tshwane residents are informed that all of the metropolitan municipality’s nature reserves, resorts and public swimming pools will be closed to visitors.
“This comes as a result of the announcement that was made by President Cyril Ramaphosa in accordance with Section 2A of the Public Holidays Act of 1994 declaring Monday, 01 November 2021 - which is a date set for local government elections - a national public holiday.
“The city is compelled to temporarily suspend operations at these facilities to afford all staff members an opportunity to take part in the local government elections. The city apologises profusely for any inconvenience that may arise because of this temporary suspension,” says spokesperson Lindela Mashego.
All the affected facilities are expected to be back in full operation from Tuesday.
