Northern Cape couple found dead
An inquest has been launched into an apparent murder-suicide after a couple was found dead at a farm in Kimberly on Monday, Northern Cape police said.
Police spokesperson Olebogeng Tawana said the couple were caretakers of the farm and were last seen on Sunday.
“One of the farm employees became concerned when he arrived on the farm and saw no sign of the couple on the farm. He immediately alerted the farm owner. The owner arrived and contacted the police,” said Tawana.
“Police broke down the door and discovered the wife’s body on a chair in the kitchen with a gunshot wound. The firearm was found next to the husband’s body. No foul play is suspected at this stage.”
