Ntuli, who lost out to Mbalula for the position of secretary-general at the party’s national conference, is reportedly gunning for the position of national spokesperson.

Current spokesperson Pule Mabe has made it clear that he has no plans to return to the position when his contract at Luthuli House comes to an end.

Ntuli believes he has both the experience and the commitment to serve the party.

"I said to comrade Mbaks (Fikile Mbalula) that he and I have worked together for years. I said to him you know me and I know you. You know my skills and talents, you can’t doubt my commitment to the movement. The conference has come and gone, you are elected and have my unconditional support of me.

“As he said yesterday (Monday), he will utilise me in whatever responsibility he deems fit. All we have to do now is to complement him as he leads one of the most difficult campaigns. There are people who are saying on social media that I would be the best candidate.”

Ntuli was among three candidates who ran for the position of secretary-general.

Initially, Ntuli received more branch nominations than either Mbalula or Phumulo Masualle.

However, Mbalula managed to clinch the position when he received 1692 votes.
