"We hope to get our members back, we have a strong case."
He was speaking ahead of the NUM's case against Lonmin to stop the company de-recognising the NUM as a majority union.
The union also wanted the transfer of its members to the rival Association of Mineworkers and Construction union (Amcu) to be declared invalid.
"We hired an independent forensic auditor and a hand-writing expert to verify the forms."
He said over 1000 Amcu forms were filled in by one person using the same identity number.
"About 8000 forms were found to be invalid. They were not signed and lacked some information."
The NUM has until July 16 to regroup or vacate offices the company provides to the majority union. The majority union has an office at all shafts.
The other unions have one central office.
