Police in North West are investigating a case of assualt and negligence after a video of a pupil holding a firearm went viral on Wednesday.

In one of the videos, the pupil and his father are seen hitting a young boy, while in a second video the pupil is seen chasing after the boy while holding a gun in his hand.
Police say it is believed that the father also held the boy by the collar and pinned him to a fence in full view of a crowd of cheering pupils.
He hit the boy with what seemed to be a metal rod.
Police spokesperson Sabatha Mokgwabone says no arrests have been made.
"On that day no case was opened. However, yesterday three cases of assault emanating from that incident were opened. We also opened a case of negligence, handling of a firearm against the father of the child who was either allegedly giving the firearm or allegedly grabbed the firearm from his father.”
