Updated | By ANA
A 64-year old man was killed and another person injured when the plane in which they were flying crashed near the Kitty Hawk aerodrome in Pretoria on Thursday.
Netcare 911 spokeswoman Athlenda Matthe said that the plane crashed about a kilometre from the aerodrome. She said that reports from the scene indicated that the plane had crashed shortly after take-off.
She said when paramedics arrived on scene, provincial paramedics were attempting resuscitation, but after a further 45 minutes there was little that could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.
