Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
A 33-year-old suspect has been remanded in custody after appearing in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court Tuesday morning.
Tshifiwa Reuben Rudzhadzi was arrested by the Hawks on Friday after he allegedly attempted to elicit a bribe from convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius.
Rudzhadzi allegedly pretended to be a member of the National Prosecuting Authority.
He allegedly told Pistorius he was part of a team of which advocate Gerrie Nel was also a member and could make Pistorius' murder conviction disappear for R250 000.
Pistorius informed the authorities and the Hawks set a trap for Rudzhadzi on Friday.
He was arrested as soon as R40 000 was handed over.
