Oscar Pistorius wants to appeal his sentence
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Former paralympian and convicted murderer, Oscar Pistorius has applied to the Constitutional Court for leave to appeal his 13-year murder sentence.
Pistorius is arguing that it would be in the interest of justice to grant leave to appeal against his sentence.
Last month the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) in Bloemfontein increased his sentence to 13 years and five months in prison.
Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013.

He argues that the SCA disregarded or ignored material factual findings which justified the departure from the prescribed minimum sentence.
He claims to have mistaken her for a burglar, when he fired several shots trough a closed bathroom door, killing Steenkamp.
