Panyaza Lesufi elected as new ANC Chair in Gauteng

Panyaza Lesufi has been voted in as the new ANC Provincial Chairperson in Gauteng, after a drawn out process that saw the results announced in the early hours of Monday morning.
Lesufi, who has been deputy provincial chairperson since 2018, succeeds David Makhura.
The three day conference concluded with Lebogang Maile who was also contesting for the position of Chairperson, lose to Lesufi again.
Lesufi received a total of 575 votes, while Maile garnered 543 votes.

Other officials that were elected include Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, as Gauteng ANC’s Deputy Chairperson.
TK Nciza will fill the position of ANC Provincial Secretary, while Deputy Secretary for the ANC in the province isTasneem Motara.
The ANC’s new Treasurer in the country’s economic hub province is Morakane Musupyoe.
