Petrol price unchanged, diesel to go up

The Department of Energy announced
some relief for motorist on Wednesday.
The price of all grades of petrol will remain the same on Wednesday, while diesel will go up.
Diesel will go up by between 47 cents and 50 cents per litre while illuminating paraffin will increase by 37 c/l.
LP gas will increase 61.00 c/kg.

"The current fuel price adjustments are due mainly to the international factors, namely, the stronger rand and higher crude oil prices,” the department says. "Geopolitical tensions are having a very negative impact on crude oil prices and consequently refined product prices globally."
The unchanged petrol price is a welcome respite after South Africans, who have been hard hit by seven consecutive months of fuel price increases.
