PHOTOS: Fire destroys Vaal homes
An investigation is looking into the cause of the massive fire on Sunday that gutted 25 holiday homes in the Fish Eagle Estate on the Vaal River.
It's believed that a gas canister exploded in one of the thatched-roof homes, but the police in the Free State did not want to eleborate on these allegations.
Lt Libuani Hani said an investigation was underway.
"The damage is estimated to be anywhere from R100 million upwards...These 25 houses burned down completely," she said.
