Violent protests rocked the Phagameng area near Modimolle in Limpopo overnight with protesters targeting the mayor's house.

Protesters barricaded the main road going into the area with tree branches, stones and burning tyres as protests over water shortages continued.
Limpopo police spokesperson Ronel Otto said the mayor's house was attacked in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with an assortment of objects thrown at the house.
"The main gate as well as lights at the gate was damaged. It's also alleged that the power to the house was also cut off," she said.
Otto said efforts were made to block the R101 between Modimolle and Mookgophong (Naboomspruit) again.
"Members of the community were quickly dispersed by our public order policing members," she said.
Otto said they were monitoring the situation with no injuries reported.
