[PICTURES] Capetonians criticised over morning crowds
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Residents of Cape Town are being heavily criticised after crowds of walkers and joggers converged at beachfronts.
This came in light of the level 4 concession that the public can run, walk, and cycle between 6am and 9am daily.
Pictures on social media show hordes of people using this opportunity, leading to heightened public health concerns.
The Western Cape has become the country's COVID-19 epicenter.

The problem with the leadership of this country is that they're too afraid to say that it's the white communities that are most affected by this virus and deploy security to manage movement in these areas. Kudos to the work you've done Mr.@CyrilRamaphosa pic.twitter.com/T0gV3TqicS

Premier Alan Winde took to social media saying he would lobby national government to avail more hours in the day for exercise, adding: "little consideration was given to the fact that sunrise is later in the Western Cape as we approach winter, therefore providing an even smaller window of time for a large number of people to exercise in line with the new regulations."
1. Today was the first day of level four lockdown in SA. Many residents in the WC, just like the rest of the country, took up the opportunity to exercise in line with these new regulations promulgated by the National Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

10. My request to all our residents is to please do everything possible to avoid any gathering whatsoever. You must keep your distance from others. You must exercise alone. You must wear a cloth mask, & be sure to follow the golden rules of hygiene at all times.
