[PICTURES] One dead, eight nabbed in Vaal robbery
Gauteng police have arrested eight suspects following a foiled cash-in-transit robbery in the Vaal.
Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says a chase from the Evaton Mall resulted in a shootout on Friday.
Muridili says a male suspect died after his vehicle crashed into a house in Sebokeng and caught fire.
“Two suspects were taken to hospital under police guard. Incriminating evidence such as two R5 rifles and five vehicles have been confiscated.”
The suspects are expected to appear in a local magistrates court soon.
