[PICTURES] Petrol bombs thrown at Joburg customer centre
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
A tyre and two petrol bombs were thrown at the offices of the City of Johannesburg’s Jabuvu Customer Centre on Friday.
Spokesperson for the city MMC for Finance Happy Zondi says that the windows at the centre were broken, but there was minimal damage to the infrastructure.
Zondi suspects the incident is retaliation by community members who have been without electricity.
“Some rogue elements from the community or neighbourhood, I would imagine, decided to attack the centre.
"The incident is misdirected because the City of Joburg does not provide power to the people of Soweto.”
