[PICTURES] Several arrested in Dragon City raids
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The police and metro police in Johannesburg conducted raids targeting counterfeit goods at Dragon City in Fordsburg on Wednesday.
Police seized a large amount of counterfeit goods and arrested several people.
This comes after fake goods worth R15 million were seized during a police raid in the Johannesburg Central Business District in August.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says the counterfeit goods confiscated at Dragon City included fake luxury clothing and bleaching creams.
“We are continuing with our operation to get rid of counterfeit goods in our country.”
Metro police say the decision to have a joint operation with Gauteng police is ultimately a safety precaution after officials were attacked during a raid at a building in Johannesburg CBD on Monday.
