PMB school guidance counsellor found guilty of rape

A Pietermaritzburg school guidance counsellor, who was accused of sexually abusing pupils, has been found guilty of rape and sexual assault.
The 31-year-old man has been convicted on seven of the 15 charges he faced.
He allegedly abused boys between the ages of four and nine in his office.

The man was arrested in 2016 after concerned parents came forward about the kind of games played during therapy sessions.
The KZN NPA's Natasha Kara says he was was charged six counts of sexual assault, seven counts of rape, one of accessing child porn and possession of child pornography.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court handed down judgment on Friday.
"He was convicted of accessing child pornography as well as five counts of sexual assault and one count of rape. The matter was postponed to 13 and 15 July for pre-sentencing reports. The man will remain out on bail," said Kara.
