Police asking for assistance to identify woman found dead in Dobsonville

The police are asking for assistance in identifying a woman who was found dead under a tree in Dobsonville, Soweto on Friday.
The police's Kay Makhubele says community members found the body and alerted them.
"The woman had some open wounds on the upper body," says Makhubele. "The woman is in her 30s."
The discovery comes in the same week that 28-year old Tshegofatso Pule was laid to rest.
Pule was found stabbed and hanged in a veld in the Durban Deep area, west of Johannesburg on Monday.
She was eight months pregnant.

A number of stakeholders have been calling for an end to gender-based violence (GBV) including the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa).
"We call on the SAPS to prioritize the investigation into Tshegofatso’s murder especially because no arrests have been made," said Numsa's Phakamile Hlubi-Majola.
"Hers is not the only one, there are hundreds of such cases and the police need to do more to protect the community, and to prioritize investigations into these cases so the perpetrators who are responsible can be arrested. Her death demands that all of us, both men and women must join in the fight against gender-based violence if we are to eradicate this scourge."
