Police in Pretoria have launched a manhunt for a man who crashed into a group of pedestrians in Salvokop on Saturday afternoon, killing three children.
The driver, who ploughed into a group of nine pedestrians before his vehicle hit a tree, fled the scene of the crash.
Three young children were killed, while six other people were injured.
"It is alleged that the suspect was driving his brother's BMW at a high speed in Salvakop when he hit seven pedestrians,” says Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo.
"The driver of the BMW fled from the scene and police are looking for him. Police have opened a case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving as well as defeating the ends of justice.”
