Police institutes action plan after 11 people killed in CTN township

Cape Town police have initiated the 72-hour action after 11 people were shot and killed in Philippi East since Friday.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says the bodies of six women, aged between 18 to 26, were found in Marcus Garvey on Friday.
"On Saturday evening in two separate shooting incidents five males - aged between 18 and 39 - were shot dead and one injured.

"The motive of these shooting incidents remains the subject of an intensive police investigation."
Van Wyk says the includes a lockdown and operations by Public Order Police and the K9 Units in the area.
